My name is Kirsten Plotkin. I’m a retired business woman. I live on the east coast of Australia, in a resort city called The Gold Coast.
This story began eight years ago, when I was probably very much like you are right now. I was in despair about my weight. I felt I had lost control over it. I could look back on twenty years of continued, failed diets. My doctor warned me I was on the verge of getting type2 diabetes. I thought I would never get back to my normal weight.
But I did. And the most amazing thing about that?
This time, it was with my own body’s help and approval.

But in my case, the old stuff I did not think about was stuff that could have saved me from twenty years of constant weight problems.
Eight years ago, I took stock of my life. I had reached 80 kilos. It was the heaviest I had ever been. Yet, till age 43, I’d never had a weight problem. Neither it seemed had anyone else. At least not anyone I knew. I tried to work out what had changed in my life. I looked for anything that could have caused me to not just get fat, but to prevent me from keeping the weight off, every time I lost it. I soon realized I was not unique. Whatever had happened to me, seemed to have happened to everyone around me.
I finally Faced up to an uncomfortable truth.
I had become a victim to a food industry that profits and thrives on an addiction. That’s nothing new. The tobacco industry have done it for decades. But as long as I could hide my addiction from myself, I could pretend that I was powerless to do anything about it. I did what most addicts do. I ran my little mantra of excuses through my mind like: This is not a real addiction, I don’t have a problem. I just have a sweet tooth. Diet ‘experts’ must know what they are talking about, or someone would have stopped them. If the food I eat is so bad, authorities would have interceded by now. And finally:
Why is being a carbohydrate addict such a terrible thing when I just love to eat?
Smokers love to smoke, alcoholics love to drink.
These are addiction symptoms – not love.
Diets are not normal to our body.
We are not meant to diet. – Why?
Human beings were not designed to adapt, – We evolve.
Evolution works in eons, not decades!
Forty years ago we began to diet.
We also began to gain weight.
This is not a coincidence.
Today The ‘experts’ claim the answer is a low carbs diet. Do you tell a smoker they can cure their addiction if they switch to low tar cigarettes?
Today weight problems are viewed as ‘normal’. This didn’t happen because we became receptive to false information, although we did. It’s that the knowledge of how the body works became an inconvenient truth to cereal, snack food and diet food corporations. It stood in the way of their business narrative. Their business is to sell some of the most addictive products on the market, with labels that say ‘healthy’. Their worst nightmare are people who know the facts, and who have an intimate knowledge of how their body works.
Their solution was to find a way to control and manage that knowledge of how our body works. So the industry created their own in-house “research”. they began to produce what has become a mountain of misinformation. They know the best way to hide the facts, is to bury them in a mountain of pulp. The information They produce is not important. It is mostly nonsense.
What is important is that it has caused us to lose confidence in the knowledge that was passed down to us from our parents and grandparents. A basic Knowledge of how our body works and the right food needed to keep it strong and healthy. We began to lose touch with our own body. We shifted the responsibility for taking care of it, to self-proclaimed ‘experts’ who, even when well-meaning, are not qualified to give that kind of advice.
There is nothing healthy about processed carbohydrates. Every carbohydrate we eat is converted to glucose. Glucose is liquid sugar. It’s the fuel that provides us with energy. There is nothing healthy about sugar.
When our body makes fuel it prefers to use carbohydrates. But it has other options. If it runs out of carbohydrates, it will turn to fat and protein and convert that into glucose. Either way, our body cannot store glucose or carbohydrates. What we don’t use for energy, is converted to body fat. Body fat has nothing to do with the fat we eat. Body fat can only be produced by our own body. It’s the fat that makes us fat. It sticks to our body, it nestles around our vital organs and it clogs our arteries.
Evolution has taught your body to understand famine.
When you cut down on food, your body slows you down and gets ready to store fat. As soon as you return to your normal calories, your body begins to restore the weight you lost. Every ounce of fat will eventually be recovered, plus an extra layer of fat for protection against the next famine. That’s nature!
If you think carbohydrate addiction is harmless. Like a cute, innocent craving for sweets for example. Consider these symptoms: Cravings, binges, hunger pains, withdrawals, fatigue, high blood pressure, strokes, depression, alzheimer’s disease, premature aging, anxiety, headaches and other pains.
These symptoms lead to some serious diseases like;
Morbid obesity, Type2 Diabetes, Heart Disease, Colon and Bowel Cancer.
These are diseases that can kill you.
